Bonnie Johnson

Bonnie knits “owl sweaters” for toddlers. Her cardigans come in many colors, and if you look closely, you will see the “owls” knitted into the design across the top. Her owl sweaters are a perennial customer favorite. Generation after generation have purchased her owl sweaters.

Bonnie learned to knit from her mother as a girl. She taught herself to knit the more advanced stitches by reading patterns and instruction books. She began to sell her work when she volunteered at one of the Woman’s Exchanges in the National Federation many years ago. She thinks the owl sweaters became even more popular after the Harry Potter books and movies were released.

She has been knitting owl sweaters for more than 30 years and still greatly enjoys it. She knits every day and finds it relaxing.
